We missed you Peg and Sue boohoohoo... Merl came this year, with daughter Katie. First timers. What a treat, to see the two of them. (They even brought potato chips!) So cool it was! Reminiscing about Fairchild, Manchester Days, almost everything we could remember. And DEB!! Yes indeedy, Deb succeeded in totally surprising me. She drove in with Kathy ... and unsuspecting Lyn, Les and myself were squinting, trying to figure out who the heck was driving Kathy. Finally, we / I headed to the car to get a closer look. Thanks again, for coming, Deb! |
It was kind of hard to find the house, as it was on a little hidden side dirt road. Soo, Mr.UNH stood guard and pointed the way. Which way to the water? Which way to the water? |
We had yummy grilled fish from Sherry - she was in total control of the (charcoal!) grill. And salads from Kathy (ooohh .... I'm still torn as to which I like best .. think its the apple whatchamacallit.) The traditional bean salad from Andrew - yahoo!! Can't get enough of it. Green salad from Sue. Yummmmm! I brought fudge, which I ate most of. Someone brought exotic chocolate truffles. And other exotic candies. Okay, I knew this was going to happen. I can't remember what everyone brought. Someone brought green apples, I know that! |
It was a pleasure for all of us getting acquainted with Katie. Sue is looking at the photo album that Merl brought. That might be Merl and Andre in the pic. |
Dueling Chips. (So labelled by Sherry) Okay, so you want to shoot the photographer. But I do so like this picture. |

We did have a good ole time.
I also really enjoyed the kayaking. First I went with Les, who showed the way going out amoung the islands... I was leary of that big open ocean. Then, when Sherry and I went out for a quick '15 minutes' and returned a couple hours later, having tried to paddle around a big island that turned out not to be an island... and we just barely squeeked back before the tide left us stranded. This past year seemed to have been an especially eventful year for all of us ... we had various new physically and/or emotionally demanding experiences. Being a nifty fifty did not feel totally nifty this year. Whew! What a year - what experiences can the next year possibly bring? It will certainly bring another reunion! Next year will be our 16th reunion, and us UNH oldest-oldies will hit a respectable 55 years old at some point during the year. So, maybe we can start dreaming of that special 60 year reunion -- in 6 years? |
This UNH fellow knows how to age gracefully. He's nifty. He smokes peeps. Mr. UNH would like to take a cruise or maybe rent an RV to go to Baxter State Park in Maine when he turns sixty. |
